Poster Competition for UCLA Bioscience Innovation Day

Dear Colleagues:

I would like to strongly encourage your participation, as well as the participation of your postdoctoral and predoctoral trainees and staff, in the second annual “UCLA Bioscience Innovation Day,” to be held on the UCLA campus on Thursday, May 23rd 2019. This event is being organized and hosted by the UCLA Technology Development Group and expected attendance is >500.  Participation is strongly encouraged in the form of poster presentations by faculty, trainees, and staff (with cash awards for the best posters), as well as attendance at networking events that will bring UCLA researchers together with large numbers of industry scientists and leaders.  Abstracts for poster consideration must be submitted by April 1st 2019.

How to apply?

  • To secure a poster presentation slot, submit your completed Abstract Submission Form(s) to UCLA Technology Development Group (TDG) by APRIL 1st 2019. Submit Abstracts to: Marketing@tdg.ucla.edu

Requested information includes:

  • Abstract title and authors
  • UCLA School, College and/or Department affiliation(s)
  • Keyword categories:
  1. Category One: Therapeutic and Diagnostic Innovations. Examples include: therapeutic targets, drug leads and/or disease biomarkers and disease applications. The abstract should include a maximum 250 word description of the unmet need, key technological or conceptual innovations, and application strategy for targeted diseases.
  2. Category Two: Unique R&D Assets: These include any valuable technologies, platforms, assays, models, clinical cohorts and datasets. The abstract (250 word maximum) should include a description of the asset, the unique features and its potential applications.

Submission Instructions and Deadlines:

  • APRIL 1st 2019: Abstract submission deadline for consideration of the poster slots at the UCLA Bioscience Innovation Day event.
    • Submit abstracts using the UCLA Bioscience Innovation Day Abstract Submission Form.
    • There is no limit to the number of abstracts a lab can submit for consideration.
    • Submit completed abstracts to Marketing@tdg.ucla.edu
  • MAY 1st 2019: Digital poster submission deadline for consideration of the poster award competition at the UCLA Bioscience Innovation Day event.
  • Further instructions will be provided at a later date.
  • May 22nd 2019: UCLA Bioscience Innovation Day Pre-Event poster set-up
  • May 23rd 2019: UCLA Bioscience Innovation Day Main Event poster display & award announcements
