No-Cost BRCA Genetic Testing

The BRCA Founder OutReach (BFOR) study provides no-cost genetic testing for common BRCA mutations in women and men of Ashkenazi (Eastern European) Jewish ancestry.  

Eligibility: 

  • At least one Ashkenazi (Eastern European) Jewish grandparent 

  • Age 25 or older 

  • Live in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, or Los Angeles  

Participation is easy and has no associated cost!  

  • Register online at www.bforstudy.com from any computer or smart device 

  • Have your blood drawn at a Quest Diagnostics lab in your community 

  • Get your results from your primary care physician or a BFOR cancer genetics specialist

Women and men with a BRCA gene mutations have a greater risk of developing several types of cancer, including breast, ovary, prostate and other cancers. BRCA testing is a simple blood test. It provides women and men with potentially life-saving information. Those who carry a BRCA mutation can take steps to reduce their cancer risks.
