COVID-19 On-Site Case Location Dashboard

 Check the COVID-19 case location dashboard (DOCX) for up-to-date information. The dashboard is updated each business day to include:

  • a list of COVID-19 cases at UCLA facilities within the past 14 days, 
  • the dates individuals were on UCLA property during the period in which they were believed to be infectious, and
  • the buildings they visited during that timeframe. 

The dashboard begins with cases after January 1, 2021. The dashboard will also be made available to employees without email through physical postings in certain common areas.

The dashboard was created in an effort to provide more information to individuals who may have been in a building where an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 had been.

Please note that this dashboard and notifications are separate from UCLA contact tracing, which remains unchanged. There is no need to contact the COVID-19 Call Center upon receipt of these email notifications. Anyone considered to be a close contact of a positive case (as defined by the L.A. County Department of Public Health) will be directly contacted by the UCLA Exposure Management Team or L.A. County Department of Public Health and provided appropriate instructions. Should you develop symptoms, you should follow the Standard Operating Procedure for Responding to COVID-19 Cases on the UCLA Campus (PDF).

Importantly, this effort is compliant with Assembly Bill 685 — which requires all California employers to provide notice to their employees, exclusive union representatives and employers of subcontracted employees of potential exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace — as well as with Cal/OSHA Title 8 CCR 3205, COVID-19 Prevention. AB 685 requires UCLA to provide notice to all unions of any employee (including those not represented by a union) who tested positive for COVID-19 and who worked at UCLA facilities while they were considered infectious, and to provide the name, job title, date of onset of illness and location of the worksite. Any employee who does not want their identity to be disclosed in this notification must request anonymity in response to the question that is included in the Symptom Monitoring Survey. If you do not select anonymity and you test positive for COVID-19 after being in a UCLA facility, your name and job title will be disclosed to the unions, regardless of if you are a member of the union.

Confidentiality of personally identifiable information is provided for in AB 685, which prevents disclosure of personally identifiable employee information in a public records or similar request. It also prohibits disclosure of the information on a website or to any other state or federal agency. However, it mandates the disclosure to UCLA union representatives unless the employee specifically indicates that they do not want their information shared.

Thank you again for your attention to protocols and procedures available on UCLA’s COVID-19 resources website. In addition to symptomatic testing, UCLA’s Community Screening Program continues to help us identify cases early through asymptomatic testing. To ensure all cases are tracked properly, please remember to review and follow UCLA’s Standard Operating Procedure for Responding to COVID-19 Cases on the UCLA Campus (PDF) to report any additional cases on campus that are discovered outside the screening program.

Medical Center employees should be referred to the Medical Center Workers’ Compensation Department at HRWorkersComp@mednet.ucla.edu or Health Human Resources.

Employees of the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) and the Faculty Practice Group (FPG) should be referred to Insurance & Risk Management at wcreports@irm.ucla.edu or Health Human Resources.

UCLA faculty, staff and student employees with questions about COVID-19 work-related illness should be referred to their department HR representative or UCLA Workers’ Compensation. For information about leaves, employees should refer to the UC COVID-19 Related Leaves and Job Protections Guidance (PDF) and CHR COVID-19 Updates, or contact their department HR representative or CHR Employee & Labor Relations.
