Seeking Project Manager in Cornea Biology

The UCLA Stein Eye Institute and Department of Ophthalmology invite applications for a full time Project
Scientist in the laboratory of Professor Sophie Deng, MD, PhD. We are seeking someone who is
responsible, enthusiastic, motivated and driven to manage the translational and clinical research
including a Phase I clinical trial.

The project manager is responsible for overseeing the day‐to‐day operation to ensure the progress of
the project and is able to trouble shoot when necessary. The project manager will work with the team
and assist the principal investigator with the planning, execution, and monitoring of research and
clinical projects to ensure all requirements and deliverables are met in a specified timeline. In particular,
the project manager must ensure that the work is conducted in compliance with standard operation
protocols and regulatory guidelines. In addition, the project manager will assist and prepare with all
required reports, grant applications, and regulatory documents.

The candidate should demonstrate excellent managerial and communication skills. The candidate needs
to be proactive, problem‐solving and has a focus on results. Candidate with PhD and/or MD with prior
experience in research, preclinical development and/or clinical trial is highly desired.
