Title: UCLA Annual Switzer Prize and Lecture
Date & Time: Dec 13, 2018 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Location: NRB Auditorium

David Sabatini, a pioneering MIT biologist and associate director of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, will deliver the 2018 Switzer Prize lecture and accept our medical school’s annual award for excellence in basic science research on December 13, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Neuroscience Research Building (NRB) Auditorium.

Dr. Sabatini’s discoveries of mechanisms that regulate cell growth have spurred the development of new classes of drugs with exciting potential to treat cancer and other diseases.

Dr. Sabatini’s achievements exemplify a priority at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA – biological and biomedical research benefiting patients – and I am confident that his lecture will enrich our community. Toward that end, we are developing additional opportunities for students, faculty and other scholars to benefit from his visit.

Information will soon be disseminated widely and posted to the Switzer Prize website at https://medschool.ucla.edu/switzer-prize.
